De la mer à la mer/From Sea to Sea
Jun-Present. 25’ | Canada

Having no exact plan and without expectation, I have a chance to come to Canada to explore a new environment. I choose a place where is different from Taipei but similar Baltimore to go ( I just realized this place is similar where I used to stay at five years ago.). Flying from the small island in the west of Pacific Ocean to the middle of northen America—Toronto, then I took VIA rail Canada from Toronto to Montréal and to the end of east—Halifax. Being pulled across four provinces—Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, I could feel how small human being is in the one of biggest country in the world. Stop by stop, step by step, the sourrounding reminded me that I was just in a point that huaman beings gathered. There’re still many places belonging to the earth rather than human.

After Covid-19 broke out around the end of March in the U.S, my school, restaurants, shops, malls were all closed. Springbreak started for a week but extended to 2 weeks later. Everything was getting worse and messily. No one knew what would happen next. All we knew was staying at home and staying away from people. More importantly, we were just waiting for the school's announcement of the next step even though MICA was still figuring out how to make everything go to an online approach. However, during this period of time, I and the class of 2020 still needed to continue our thesis works and the graduation requirement. It’s a tough semester but I passed it and felt relief after getting everything done. In this video, I took some video clips from my apartment from March, 2020 to May, 2020. I spent most of the time with my thesis, letters, words, books, laptop and the same view with or without rain. I didn’t feel really sad but a little lost in the same room and the same view.
Stay positive!
Stay safe. Stay healthy!

May.21’-Dec.21’ | Taipei, Taiwan

(Sound on) Yeah! As lots of people know, the pandemic condition is getting worse in Taiwan lately. ( Might be a little better now? ) To be honest, I kind of expected that I might encounter another outbreak again when the local cases rose above 26 in Taipei but never thought it’d happen that fast. True. Viruses wouldn’t wait for anyone. During four-week level three alert in Taiwan, I feel like Taiwan finally connected to the world in another strange way. Taiwanese eventually understand what happened around the world for the past entire year. STAY AT HOME is not a suggestion but a warning we’re supposed to notice and follow. Again! I still feel lucky that I have a place where I can sleep, eat, and work safely. Thank you those working on the front line to fight with Covid-19. Hope everything will be back soon.

Today, June 14th, is Dragon Boat Festival but there’s no boat and no festival because of the covid. Wish all of you peace and health. Keep staying safe, calm and healthy. Hope this short video heals you. It’s gonna be ok.
