People often write in two ways: Short-form and Long-form. Short-form tends to be quick and means the writer is thinking fast to achieve a particular purpose such as making a note or a list. On the contrary, long-form writing, such as a birthday card or a letter takes longer, and prompts the writer to think deeply. Writing is not fixed, invariable, or limited. The flow of writing represents the process of thinking.This project explores these ideas as videos in multiple overlapping frames to show specific writing/thinking moments as deconstructed details which highlight aspects of each person's experiences and identity. Each person featured in this collection has his / her individual habit of using handwriting to do an “action” of thinking. What he / she thinks is embodied in what he / she writes.Video Length | 7”20’Writing is Thinking Space—IKIGAI 字在空間實驗計畫—IKIGAI(中：人生的意義/日：生き甲斐) Type Design | Installation | ExhibitionE 19’ This project was a type exploration in a space based in MICA main campus. The purpose of this project was to find a corner to integrate a deep connection of type choices, materials, and the environments.“IKIGA” is a concept which means “ The meaning of life”&nbsp; from Japan. This bush area was one of my thinking spot in everyday morning at MICA. Whenever I passed this place, I usually could see the reflection on windows of Brown Center. At that moment, the reflection didn’t only reflect the motion of people passing by but also plants standing there. Around winter period, the bush plants falled, disappeared and became brown. This living process from birth to death made me think of the meaning of a life everyday when I was studied in MICA. What are we pursuing ? I started another new journey after I finished an old one in Irvine, CA. East coast and west coast have a lot of difference regarding architecture, the color, the weather, food and the people. Life style was also a new world for me. I picked up some life styles as I had in Taiwan like walking from school to somewhere or taking a bus from home to inner harbor.&nbsp; At the same time, I began my learning path of cooking here. I tried to cook what I like, more specifically, I tried to know what I think it’s easier to cook and I still love it.The biggest reason I love baltimore was I could see four seasons very seperately. Compared to Taipei and Irvine that I have lived beofore, Baltimore has REAL autumn and winter. I could feel and see it from my environment rather than only temparture.Maples came out when the autumn was here even though it’s very a short period of time. The artist book is composed by the artworks, process, Q&amp;A, event scores and field research of the curator and five artists from Helsinki/Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei, Tainan and Perth. The design concept of the book is a “box”. The line is symbolic of an abstract idea of sound which artists use as a main medium for their art works. Therefore, the book is visualized as a music box to collect all the artists’ works. The book cover is opened a small window to let viewers to view five different scenes into the box. In order to make the book thicker like a box, the size is set up 10.7 width and 18 length centimeter. The way of binding is used with white/black plastic spiral to connect each artists’ sections of works and processes. 盒中風景為 「 我們把它都裝在一個盒子裡 」 計畫中的獨立出版品，書的內容匯集2023至2025年間，策展人及五位來自赫爾辛基、香港、東京、台北、伯斯的藝術家們，以其創作關於在地 「 聲音 」的藝術作品、創作過程、問答、藝術家事件譜架及展覽紀錄構成一書。 書籍設計概念以 「 盒子 」 為出發點、線條符號為 「 聲音 」 符號化，想像書為一盒子將藝術家作品及策劃脈絡串起並放進盒子中，因此封面處開了一小天窗，讓閱讀者似 「 看 」 盒子 The event included perspectives of three different professional artists in Taiwanese craftsmanship industry. There are five long-term resident Taiwanese artist groups in Treasure Hill demonstrating their art works in the village. Taipei Artist Village (TAV) has hosted more than 500 artists-in-residency from different background and countries for past twenty years. A great numbers of exhibitions, workshops, and performances was happening on each corner of TAV. Many stories were hidden behind art works, spaces, studios, walls and even a chair. The titles of 2021, 2022 and 2023 were Beginning, Process and Turning. The project invited the artists who have been in this place to focus on the time of residency in TAV to create different perspectives about here and the relationship between the individual and the city, Taipei. 1. 23’ Turning 「是逗號是句號也是破折號」 2023 is the last year of TAV for operating. In order to emphasize the spaces where cultivated many talented artists, the key visual was made by the collage of the corners in TAV building. Also, following the works of invited-artists — the relationship of a body and a space, three elements—stairs, handrails and the roof—are metaphors for the process of composition. At the same time, it also reflects the Chinese title of exhibition—comma, period and dash—that forms a sentence completely. 2. 22’ Process 「是過去是現在式也是未來式」 Image the structure of TAV is an island of Taiwan. It welcomes artists around the world to join artist residency program every year. Combing three different times of TAV including past, present and future tense, it shows different textures of the island— solid color shapes, digital pixels and dash-line frames. They all co-live in a same time and a space and also happen each moment.
